Star Wars alum Daisy Ridley has signed on to play the lead role in the new psychological thriller The Marsh Kings Daughter.
Connected with Black Bear, Anonymous content and STX International, the project will be directed by Neil Burger of Limitless and Divergent Fame.
The film is an adaptation of Karen Dionne’s novel of the same title, with Deadline’s report author Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith.
Ridley will play Helena, a woman leading a normal life, but hides a secret secret: her father is the infamous Marsh King, the man who held her and her mother captive in the wilderness for years.
After trying to escape her past for a lifetime, Helena is forced to confront her demons when her father unexpectedly escapes from prison.
Ridley, best known for starring in three Star Wars films as Ray and Kenneth Branagh’s Murder on the Orient Express, currently awaiting the release of the sci-fi film Chaos Walking, directed by Doug Liman and directed by Tom Holland Have been.
