Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth says he is really excited about the biopic being made on WWE veteran Hulk Hogan, which is currently under development.
The Thor actor revealed that he would bulk up his physique for the much-awaited film to be directed by clown-helmer Todd Phillips.
“This film is going to be a really fun project. As you can imagine, the role preparation will be completely physical. I have to keep more size than before, more than I kept for Thor.
“And then there is the physicality and attitude along with the pronunciation. “I also have to get into the rabbit hole of the wrestling world, which I’m really looking forward to doing,” Hesworth told the British magazine Total Film.
The project was announced last year, with 8 Mile scribe Scott Silver and John Polono penning the script.
It is expected to witness Hogan’s rise from the Florida Wrestling Circuit to become the face of the 1980 World Wrestling Federation, where he competed with the villain Andre the Giant.
The 36-year-old actor, however, said that the team is still far from starting production on the film.
“I haven’t seen any scripts yet. The project is deep in development. Todd Phillips and I met to chat about it a year or two ago. We talked about the idea for the film, which I think That at one point was going to be a TV series.
“They had some different ideas about what part of their life it was going to establish, so we spitball about what it could be and I thought it could be. Thankfully, he ran with some of those ideas and is in the process of writing the screenplay – but Hulk Hogan is still far away. “
The biopic will be produced by Michael Sugar with his Sugar 23 first-look Netflix deal, as well as joint efforts by Phillips and Bradley Cooper, Eric Bischoff and Hemsworth.
Hogan will also serve as executive producer with Sugar 23’s Ashley Zalta. Steve Desmond and Michael Sherman will serve as co-producers.
