2067 Cut back and forth for key moments in Ethan’s life. We see these scenes from other perspectives because he exposes the truth. The unanswered questions that drive the story will keep you guessing until the very end. The film tries to balance complex narrative with heavy philosophical themes. Problems arise when the characters deal with the emotional toll. Cody Smit-McPhee spends a good part of the runtime bawling his eyes out. Supporting characters also join the weeping festival. The downgrade becomes very prevalent.

2067 There is an indie that looks like a big budget Hollywood film. It has an impressive production design and special effects. Seth Larney (Tombiruo) Worked extensively as a visual effects supervisor. His considerable experience is evident from the opening frame. We see the world as an ecological disaster. This is followed by a hell of death from industrial pollution, oxygen atm and blood-pulsation. Larney then turns the gears completely into a lush green environment. The context of the story changes strikingly and artistically.

Hard sci-fi fans and abstract thinkers will appreciate Seth Larney’s conclusion. I could have done without the onslaught of tears, but liked the sophistication of the story. Riddle comes together for an exhilarating, surprisingly deliberate finale. The line between faith and science is not always clear. Both need to be achieved exceptionally, especially when facing severe consequences of climate change. 2067 Arcadia is a production of Futurism Studios and Elevation Production Finance.
