Go to the animal crossing. The cameo is the next digital partner for Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign.
Cameo, a video platform where users can pay for personal messages from their favorite celebrities, is partnering with the Biden campaign on a new fundraising event. Mandy Moore, Titus Burgess, Andy Cohen, Dull Hill, and other celebrities will use the video-sharing app to raise money for the campaign, although the exact percentage has not been released. Those celebrities who are raising funds for the Biden campaign will have a Biden for the presidential logo displayed on their account pages, although users are not required to select a Biden-related video message.
“This partnership is a prime example of how this year may have pushed the electoral cycle forward, but it has presented new opportunities to broaden our digital reach and tap into grassroots support that we Biden and Kamala are looking for Harris, ”said Christian Tom, director of digital partnerships for the Biden campaign. “We are grateful for our campaign’s renowned talent and the roster of champions who are closing this partnership, expanding our grassroots, and advancing the fight for the soul of our nation.”
While this is not the first time the Biden campaign has created an important outreach for digital audiences, it will certainly not be the last. Just last week, Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris did her cameo on the Verzuz Instagram Live fight between R&B singers Brandi and Monica, an event that attracted more than 1.2 million viewers. In addition to the Biden Yard signs now available at Animal Crossing, the campaign is moving to a larger digital presence, with initiatives on all platforms.
