Actor Jimmy Shirgil, director Ishwar Niwas and 32 other members of his crew have been booked by police in Ludhiana, Punjab on charges of violating Kovid-19 guidelines. Police officials said the team of the web series Your Honor was found shooting during curfew at Arya Senior Secondary School in the city.
Sub-Inspector Maninder Kaur from Division No. 1 Police Station said that an FIR was lodged against actor Jimmy Shirgil, director Ishwar Niwas and crew members Akashdeep Singh and Mandeep Singh. A case has been registered against thirty unknown people.

He said that when the police team visited the spot on Tuesday night, 100-150 persons had gathered in the city in violation of the Kovid curfew guidelines starting at 6 pm. Filed under Section 188 (Disobedience of Lawful Order by Public Servant), 269 (Possession of IPC for negligence of spreading infection of any life-threatening disease) and Section 3 of Epidemic Diseases Act. . In the case Ishwar Niwas, Akashdeep Singh and Mandeep Singh were arrested and granted bail.
Adapted from an Israeli show ‘Quodo’, the film ‘Your Honor’ starring Jimmy Shirgil is a web series in which he plays a judge in Ludhiana, whose son is involved in the hit and run case. The second season of the show is now being shot.
The film, directed by Ishwar Niwas, won the National Award for Best Hindi Feature Film in 1999.
