Actor Anupama Pathak found dead

Police said on Friday that Bhojpuri actor Anupama Pathak was found dead at her house in Mira Road area of Mumbai metropolis. Based on preliminary investigation, police have said that 40-year-old Pathak committed suicide.
Coming from Bihar’s Purnia district, she moved to Mumbai and worked in Bhojpuri films and TV shows.
A day earlier, Anupama Pathak shared in a Facebook video that she had been cheated and was unable to trust anyone. In the video, she talked about trust issues and the lack of friends who could be of help.
Police said that she ended her life when her husband went out for some work. A suicide note was found on the spot.
A police officer said she felt a friend did not return her two-wheeler and was also upset because she was out of money and work during a coronovirus-induced lockdown.
“Bye bye, good night” was her last Facebook post, the official said.
He said that a case has been registered under Section 306 of the IPC.
Pathak’s death comes at a time when the entertainment industry is recovering from the shock of the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who died by suicide on 14 June.
On 9 June, Rajput’s former manager Disha Salian jumped from the tall building. A month earlier, on 15 May, TV actor Manmeet Grewal died by suicide at his Mumbai home. Television actor Sameer Sharma44, as the mother-in-law was also a daughter-in-law and best known for her roles in Left Right Left, was found dead at her home in suburban Malad on Wednesday.
