While a recent clip focused heavily on Zendaya as the new voice of Lola Bunny, we’re about to get the final Space Jam: A New Legacy trailer tomorrow, which will likely give us a better view of the wider range of characters. This morning, @spacejammovie tweeted the news that the new trailer is dropping in the next 24 hours, and also released a new poster advertising the July 16 release date. The announcement read, “The Tune Squad and Lebron James Team up to reach new heights Space Jam: A New Legacy. The second trailer will drop tomorrow!”
The poster features all of the film’s Looney Tunes “heroes”, including Speedy Gonzales, who has recently been called “stereotypically racist” towards the people of Mexico, but with a notable absence of Pepe-le-Peu. Quite a lot of bad press has been given. , which has received similar complaints over its more erotic advances in its older cartoons. It remains to be seen whether he has a minor role in the final film. Also notably absent from the poster are the bad guys; gang of goons.
As well as James, the film also stars Don Cheadle, who plays the film’s main antagonist, Al G.
