Of samsungThe lineup is impressive. From 5G support to a new camera setup with improved performance, there’s a lot to get excited about. Heck, Even borrowed one of the note’s marquee features: . That’s right, you can now use a stylus to write or draw on one of Samsung’s S-series phones.
All three phones runWith a UI 3.1 proprietary skin from Samsung. This means that you get the best Android currently has to offer ( ), But you also have access to improvements and Samsung has made the operating system. For example, the S21 has two different types of floating notifications and you can now add effects to your video call.
Below I will show you some of the best features discovered so far on the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
How to turn off S21
If you long press the power button hoping to turn off the phone, you are in for a surprise. A Bixby surprise, to be exact. That’s right, holding the power button will launch Bixby instead of giving you the option to turn off the phone. But don’t fret, you have a few different options to down or restart your S21:
- To see the Quick Settings panel, swipe down from the top of the screen, then tap on the power button in the upper-right corner.
- Long press the side button and volume down button at the same time, until the power menu appears.
- Change the side button to act as a power button Adjustment > advanced features > Side key Choose more Power off menu. From now on, long pressing the power button will bring the power menu up.
S-Pen Support on S21 Ultra
It is not a hidden feature, not only that, it is not clear at all unless you have been explicitly told about it. You see, the S21 Ultra lacks anywhere to store the S Pen, as the Note series does. So if you bought the phone because you wanted Samsung to offer the best, then you would not have any better information.
The S21 Ultra will work with any Galaxy Note series or Galaxy Tab S series S-Pen stylus. Or you can opt for the S21 Ultra Case which includes the S Pen.
If you have an S Pen, you need to start using it with Ultra, it has to touch the tip on the screen and it should just work. If you rotate the pen just above the screen surface, you will see a small icon on the display showing that it recognizes the stylus. Once you touch it on the screen, the Air Command icon will appear, allowing you to take quick notes, screenshots and so on.
Take a better screenshot
Every Galaxy S21 has some hidden edge panels from Samsung that tuck shortcuts to apps, features, and information. You may have seen a little transparent line on the right side of your S21 screen. This is where you use hidden panels. Out of the box, one of the screenshot panels is closed.
This is easily one of the most useful panels as it gives you many options to do more than capture your screen. The panel is actually called Smart Select, and gives you the tools to capture just a portion of your screen using a rectangle or ellipse, recording an animated image (or GIF) or pinning a screenshot Is, perhaps with a phone number or address, your screen
Go to start smart capture panel Adjustment > Display > Edge panels > The panels And tap on the circle above Select smart. Moving forward, all you need to do is open the side panel and swipe between the panels you added until you make the smart selection, then select the tool you want to use to take a screenshot .
Add effects to your video call
Ever see someone use those fancy backgrounds on a zoom? Who makes it feel like you’re somewhere else? Ok, you can do this on the Galaxy S21 in your video call. To select your effect, go to Adjustment > advanced features > Video call effect. Turn it on, then choose if you want to blur your background, a color from your photos, or a specific image.
Turn on floating notifications for easy access to alerts
Android 11 launched Google’s new Bubbles Notification feature, which looks and works like Facebook Messenger’s Chathead feature. That is, instead of swiping down the notification panel to see alerts, a floating circle gives you instant access to your conversations at all times. Bubbles does the same thing, but for more apps, such as Google’s Messages.
Bubbles joins Samsung’s version of the same feature, called Smart Pop-Up View. But before you can use either one, you will need to enable it.
Go for Adjustment > Notifications > advanced settings > Temporary notifications. Choose the option you want to use, both have a quick animation on the screen of how they work. Experiment with both bubbles and smart pop-ups to find out which one you like, even if it is none of them.
Lock screen widget
Samsung’s Always On Display feature has long been my favorite. This makes it easy to view information or control audio playback easily, but with the Galaxy S21, you can do even more with it. if you go to Adjustment > lock screen > Widget You can turn on each widget you want to use, along with Always show on display. Then, whenever your phone is locked and AOD is activated, double-tap the clock to see all your widgets.
Find anything on your phone
Having trouble finding an application, contact, or file? To review the Quick Settings shortcut panel, swipe down from the top of the screen, then swipe again to see the full Quick Settings panel. Tap the search icon at the top of the screen and type in your query.
