Apple is ready Take on tile With your new Airtag trackerWho can Help iPhone Owners Find Lost Items Like their key or a bag. $ 29 tracker that works with Apple’s Find My NetworkIs available to Order now And will hit store shelves from April 30. Find My Network is a congested network created by fellow Apple users to help track an AirTag at all times. But what about Android phones?

When Apple announced AirTag, I speculated that Android phones might not interact with a tile-like tracker at all.

It turns out that I was wrong. When you can’t pair airtags with an Android device, Apple’s walled gardens do not help prevent Android owners from returning a lost airtag. This means that if you have an Android phone and find someone’s key or hear a beeping airtag inside the backpack, you can play a part in returning it to its owner. Like this.

What to do if you lose your airtag

Each AirTag randomly uses a random Bluetooth identifier to communicate with Apple devices in the background to detect a small tracker – all without anyone knowing it. However, the same cannot be said about Android phones. Until Apple decides to release the Find My app in the Play Store, you’ll have to do some additional work if you find a lost tag.

If you have an Android phone and may be looking for a lost set of keys, a backpack, or even an airtag bike, you can scan the small tracker as long as your phone has the ability to read NFC tags Ho.

There is an NFC chip inside every AirTag, and that chip is readable by Android phones and iPhones. So, as long as your Android phone is equipped with NFC (if you can use contactless payments, you have NFC), you just have to read Airtel on the back of your phone.

Once the tag is scanned, an alert will appear on your screen that contains a web link, or your phone’s browser will automatically open on an information page about the tag. If it is marked as lost, you will see instructions on how to contact the rightful owner and return the item to them. Very easy, isn’t it?

What to do if you find a random AirTag

Apple kept a lot of ideas and worked to eliminate the use of airtags as hidden tracking devices: you can use them only to track objects, not people or pets. For example, an AirTag that detects that it is traveling away from its owner will start beeping after extended periods. It will take three days before the airtag beeps – but Apple plans to adjust that time based on the airtag’s after-sales feedback.

What do you do if you find an airtag in your car or backpack? Start by scanning it using your phone’s NFC capability. If it is marked as lost, you will see the information of the owner and how to contact them. If it is not marked as lost, then you must walk through the process of removing the battery from the AirTag to deactivate it.
